DESIGN TO SUSTAIN X KLFW ☺
DESIGN TO SUSTAIN X KLFW ☺
Design to sustain, an initiative to express its support towards sustainable and ethical fashion.
With the ascending lifestyle of zero-waste living, KLFW speaks up for sustainability by forming Design to Sustain.
Working closely with @klothlifestyle and Lifeline Clothing Malaysia, a Malaysian social entrepreneurship movement for keeping fabrics and plastics out of landfills through the circular economy business model in catalysing zero fabric wastes in the landfills and giving them a new life, RETHINK & RECONSTRUCT once again invited 15 young and uprising designers to the challenge of creating sustainable, fashionable runway-worthy pieces for KLFW 2021.

02 — OUTFIT INSPIRATION
At first sight, you can imagine the wearer in a garden picking flowers with a weaved basket in her hand. Golden Sun rays hit her cheek while subtly reflecting her tan skin's natural glow. Bestowing the beholder a nostalgic and romantic picture of agricultural life, a cottage core reminiscent.
The look was inspired by the modernized interpretation of historical fashion for a more practical and cozy outfit that includes elements of whimsy. Also known as the grandmother-core, you can see the emulation of techniques such as quilting, embroidery of plants, and the use of mostly natural fabrics, such as cotton, linens, and knitted yarn.
All the clothes used were vintage and purchased second-hand from thrift stores and vintage shops. This is in line with the appreciation for the environment and sustainability of the cottage core movement.
